On the way back with this right now! I bought this piano to restore. It will be done in a Satin Ebony. I will likely finish it off with the "Steinway" satin rub. The piano is 5'10" long and what I like about this piano is its one of the earlier Model O Steinways. Steinway started out with the Model O I think in 1901 or 1902. Made them both here in New York and in Hamburg until mid 1920's (if I remember correctly 1924 or 25). Then introduced the Model L for the US while continuing the O in Germany. Steinway recently stoped making the L and went back to the O here in the US. The Hamburg Steinways have always had a distinct following and maybe this had a little to do with the reshuffling the Model lineup for the US because of the desire to have the Hamburg models.
In any case I am excited to get this particular Steinway and am looking forward to getting into the restoration.
Ill get some pictured posted soon.

Did a little research online and found thi mentioned by a technician regarding theSteinway O.
"History of the Steinway O
Steinway stopped production of the Model O in 1924, replacing it with the Model L (the L is 1/4" shorter and 1/4" wider). The Model O remained out of production for more than 80 years until it was brought back into production by Steinway & Sons in 2006. The early models are historical pianos for several reasons and are highly desirable and deserving of restoration and repair. There is no reason to retire a Steinway Model O.
Henry Ziegler (1857 - 1930) designed the Model O along with the Model M and the Model L.Made in both New York and Germany, the Steinway O officially replaced the Model L grand beginning in 2006."

Purchased some whippens for this piano yesterday. This is a project that will be worked little by little since I have so much other stuff going on. You will see updates from time to time on this piano.
